Hi Jim,
That is a realistic goal to lose 15 pounds in 30 days! Yes, keep the emotional eating at bay. First set your mind to sticking to the plan. Then come up with ways to distract yourself when you think about emotional eating - go for a walk, play with the kids, pick up a hobby, get out of the kitchen, read, drink water, review your goals, ect.
You will over time - a week or two - create new habits. Your stomach will shrink and your body will have less cravings. It will be less of a battle every day. You will want vegetables in instead of cake!
Keep the big picture mind of a healthy, fit, athletic dad and husband who is energetic - and in a good mood!
Be well,
Kelli
Hi there, I am Cori and my reason for doing the Isagenix 30 Day cleanse is to break the cycle of bad habits and lean into a cleaner eating way of life. I have wanted to "eat clean" but cannot get there without breaking bad habits first. Also, eating home and not eating out by default. I love to eat out but always feel bad about doing so if it wasn't a conscious choice and do it only because I didn't plan something healthy at home. I would also LOVE to lose at least 15 pounds once and for all. Have wanted to lose these pounds but have never really committed to doing so. Then would like to see how the weight loss improves my running because I have signed up to run the White Rock 1/2 marathon!!
ReplyDeleteQuestions-My month of July was pretty open and doing the cleanse didn't really get in the way of anything major but a couple of things have come up. First, we have decided to take a short weekend trip over the 4th and my best friends 50th birthday is coming up and we will be going out to dinner to celebrate. How do we fit these things in without getting way off track?
ReplyDeleteHi, guys! I just wanted to say, as a personal trainer, athlete and Isagenix user, YOU CAN DO THIS!!! I intended to lean down when I tried Isagenix and I dropped over 14 inches and over 2% body fat in my first 17 days, and that's without doing cardio or augmenting my exercise! So if you add in the cardio and exercise that I didn't... Your results could be even better!
ReplyDeleteRemember, this is not just about the toxins and weight you're getting rid of, this is about what you're gaining; your self-confidence, your sense of self accomplishment and a renewed self worth and pride. This is about self love and you deserve it. Remember that if the going gets tough. And with someone like Kelli coaching you and believing in you, you are unstoppable!
Hi Cori,
ReplyDeleteThe beauty of Isagenix is that is can be a natural and normal of your life. Life is full of celebrations and events and food is usually a part of them. It's unfortunate that its rarely healthy food, but never the less, we ALWAYS have a choice.
Anthony and I went to Naples for 4 days in the middle of his second 30 day cleanse. He had his Isalean shake for breakfast and lunch and then we went out for dinner every night. He lost 4 pounds that week. Its still very possible to stick to the program.
If you are eating out or with a group of people more than once a day, you can order a salad at one meal and then your balanced 500 - 600 calorie meal at the second dining experience.
WHen you keep in mind the bigger picture, its easier to make the healthy choices. You friends won't think you are weird. I can't promise they won't be jealous when they see how great you look or wish they were as motivated to make healthy choices, but its worth it to be fit, lean and healthy no matter what your company decides to do!
Hi Cori,
ReplyDeleteI am not sure why my comment came up anonymous, but it was me!
Good thing I am better at fitness than technology!
Kelli
Russell,
ReplyDeleteThank you for "weighing in" on your experience. I LOVE your story - now I want to see pics!!!
Kelli
Hi Kelli - just wanted to report that I am feeling much better. I wrote you that on Day #1 (which for me was Tuesday), I experienced a horrible headache, nausea, fatigue, etc. I went home that night and went straight to bed without taking the evening shake. I am happy to report that I am back on track today because I think I am better prepared.
ReplyDeleteI stopped at the grocery store last night and loaded up on raspberries, blueberries, celery and carrots so that I can bring these things to work and be better prepared.
I had the shake for breakfast and 1 oz. of Ionix Supreme (thanks for the suggestion). I had raspberries and blueberries for a mid-morning snack. So far, no headaches and no nausea. I feel really good.
Also, drinking lots of water. I hope I am over that feeling from Day #1.
Thank you, Kelli, for your support. I love the daily videos you send.
Maureen

I was wondering if it would be o.k. to add some hummus to the celery when snacking.
ReplyDeleteI will officially be starting on Sunday 7/3/11. its great to read all the posts, it definitely helps me get in a more positive frame of mind. I am looking forward to my success. thanks to you all for sharing.
ReplyDeleteKelli, is that why Nicholas' name is the one posting your Youtube Videos?? LOL :-))
Today I was traveling and came upon some interesting realizations. We were traveling by car so finding a healthy lunch was a real challenge. We stopped at a McDonalds where the family ate and I decided I was not going to waste my one meal of the day on that crap. I would wait until something else came along. We passed a Subway which I was willing to eat but I decided to keep going because it was too crowded. It was not until a good 1-1 1/2 hours later that another fairly decent Subway came along. Aahh finally. I could get a sandwich. What I noticed was I did not experience what I call LBSCBS. (low blood sugar cranky butt syndrom) I was able to hold off eating and while I did feel hungry I did not get cranky and shaky like I usually do when I have waited too long to eat. Physiological changes are definitely happening. That feels great and I have no problem dining with my family and having a salad and not wishing for anything else on the menu.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to share a response that I sent to one of you who had a challenging day at a party.
ReplyDeleteHere goes . . .
I am glad you have made progress this week.
It’s not easy being around food – fattening, sugary, salty, fried, calorie laden food – when you are trying to not eat it. The key in that word is “try”. You can’t “try” you have to do. You have to make up your mind – the old you would indulge – and feel terrible later. The new you is staying the course b/c nothing tastes as good as feeling sexy in a bikini!
I have friends who are fitness, figure and body building competitors. They go to parties, travel for work, vacation, etc AND they look at the typical barbeque and party foods with disgust. They would never even consider a smore, ribs smothered in barbeque sauce or cheese cake. They just don’t’ want it. I am sure there are foods that no one for any amount of money could convince you to eat or drink. You just think “YUCK” when you think of that food.
You can get the same perspective about whatever it was that you ate yesterday. It could be brownies, wine, burgers, or whatever the food that is moving you away from your goal.
After the 30 days, you can go back to things in moderation if you want – no guilt – no worries. I know it will be less often and less quantity.
Bring a veggie tray with you so you know you can snack on it. Keep a cold bottle of water in your hands. Chew the isasnacks, bring some almonds.
Just be prepared. You will do the best you can!
I posted 2 responses to Cori's last 2 posts and I am not sure why they did not appear.
ReplyDeleteHere goes again . . .
Cori, yes, you can add hummus to your celery. I know you are burning 500+ calories in boot camp and then walking the dog, etc so you can afford it.
For everyone who is not exercising as long or as hard, I would caution adding in extra's. Follow the step by step guide as closely as possible. Those who do see the most significant results!
Regarding McDonalds, I LOVE that you were able to pass it up and did not want to "Waste" your meal there. Keep wanting better quality foods. Your body and your metabolism will thank you!
You want to choose the very best meals for your lunches. I can promise you will feel horrible after eating McDonalds.
Continue to be prepared with the best food choices possible. When in a situation where the choices are not great. Hold off and have some vegetables or as a last resort, make the best possible choice with what you have available.
Keep a shake on you so if you find yourself in a situation with poor choices, you can have a shake and have your meal later.
Be well,
Kelli
